TUESDAY
I received an email from our agency Friday stating our attorney would be trying to submit our case on Monday! However this morning I received another email stating now it will likely be Tuesday because our attorney was issued 2 citations. Kind of puts a damper in my day but I am holding out hope that Tuesday everything goes as planned!

Prayers needed...
I am exhausted...physically and emotionally but please pray for the Steven Curtis Chapman family and the tragic loss of their daughter Maria.

This information was taken from: http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/
MARIA SUE CHAPMAN, DAUGHTER OF STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, DIES IN ACCIDENT AT FAMILY HOME
NASHVILLE, TN...5/21/08... At approximately 5pm on the afternoon of Wednesday May 21st, Maria Sue Chapman, 5 years old and the youngest daughter to Steven and Mary Beth Chapman was struck in the driveway of the Chapman home in Franklin, TN. Maria was rushed to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital in Nashville, transported by LifeFlight, but died of her injuries there. Maria is one of the close knit family’s six children and one of their three adopted daughters.
More than five years ago, Chapman and his wife MaryBeth founded The Shaohannah’s Hope Ministry after bringing their first adopted daughter, Shaohannah, home from China. The ministry’s goal is to help families reduce the financial barrier of adoption, and has provided grants to over 1700 families wishing to adopt orphans from around the world. Chapman is a five-time GRAMMY ® winner and 54-time Dove Award winning artist who has sold over 10 million albums and garnered 44 No. 1 singles.

Help get Elvia home...order a magazine!
Visit our fundraising site:
http://www.magfundraising.com/HeinrichAdoption
Hey everyone!
I sent an email out for our new fundraiser...however it is kind of confusing, so here is the link:
http://www.magfundraising.com/HeinrichAdoption
Even if you aren't in need of any magazines, I would love for you to forward it to friends and family and please refer them to our blog... we need all the support and prayers we can get.
I haven't posted much about the mess in PGN (well I did have emails from my agency posted but got asked NOT to do that). Basically adoptions between the US and Guatemala ended 1-1. However those of us in process were grandfathered in. Now with the new Attorney General in Guatemala...he is trying to FORCE the birth mothers to take their children back. Don't sweat too fast...
Elvia's case is not in that stage as our attorney has been unable to submit it to the Embassy yet, this is where we will get Pre-approval to adopt from the U.S Embassy and Family Court approval from Guatemala. Then we go into PGN (the final approval stage). Most cases that started when we did...the children are home or on their way home. I don't understand why things are working out the way they are with us but we have to keep believing it will happen and this little girl will be home for her first Pumpkin Party in October!
Well since adoptions are taking longer than the estimated 5-9 months, money is running out, for attorney's and foster moms. We have been advised our attorney had to sell his car, whether it be his only car, 2nd car, third car...that I do not know. But when we met him in March...he looked awful, I thought he was homeless---I was scared trying to figure out what this spanish speaking person was trying to ask me for..here he just wanted to bring me my daughter!
So now we have to pay an add'l 300 a month in foster care. I am trying to find a way to work remotely (with my job in the US) in Guatemala so I can go and foster Elvia (I can rent a house with 3 other moms and split the 900 dollar rent)..in the long run it may be cheaper as I will be saving money on gas as we will walk everywhere pushing our strollers and believe me I won't be eating much there other than the easy mac I take! And for those of you that do not know we have joined the lawsuit against our old agency for Kaz...in total we have lost about 20k trying to adopt Roma.
So since my yard sale today earned me a whooping 18 dollars I thought I would try this fundraiser! I apologize in advance if anyone is bothered by our attempts to help raise money to complete our family...Brent hates that we are doing this but when we first started adopting and we could afford it, I supported many others in need, these orphans need families and I would be more than willing to help others down the road to bring another child home. Someone today asked me if I tried fostering here, my response, I emailed both Armstrong and Westmoreland County a few times and they never responded.
Please keep us and all the waiting Guatemalan families in your thoughts and prayers!
Love Deanna, Brent and Elvia (soon to be Auri - we think although she told me on our last trip her name is Elvia...well it went more like this: your name is Auri...no no... your name is Elvia - Cee Cee with a big smile and her head nodding!!!)

Moving to Antigua!
Well this process is taking so long...and I miss my little girl. So I am in the process of trying to move to Guatemala in July! Right now there are two other mom's trying to make the move with me or should I say I am trying to make the move with them! It will be awesome if it happens! However Elvia's case needs to get submitted and into PGN no later than mid June for this to work...please pray it does! Tomorrow Brent and I are having a yard sale in hopes that we make a little more money to make the move affordable! I will keep you all posted!

Amended I-171H, cheap flights and dilemma's!!!!
UUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH..yes this is my life! We had our fingerprints redone April 29th as they expire on our I171H (I think today or tomorrow) and as of yesterday we still haven't received the amended one. So I send an email out to Immigration and they emailed me today to say they sent it yesterday. Of course I then frantically email my agency to let them know not to submit our case to the Embassy until I can get this to them b/c it will just cause more added stress trying to get the amended one in the file.
After sitting in traffic for about an hour and half I finally make it home...run across the street grab the mail and open and read it as I run back across(which my Mother hates!!!) and then upstairs to try and scan it to email it off...of course the scanner refuses to cooperate!
So off I run with my purse and my Staples copy card to fax it...once I get there I realize my copy card is for just that...copies not FAXES!!! So here I am using plastic to pay for the $1.25 fax because I seem to misplace money --but maybe that is because it is sparse these days!!!
Then my agency informs me that they are waiting on the last certificate and then off to translation and then finally to the Embassy. But back up...after I got home I decided to check flights for June 12-16 and they DROPPED! I am crying...we can afford to go! Now I just need to wait for Brent to get back from mowing lawns and pray the tickets are still available!
I run out as soon as he gets home to tell him the news but then present him with another option we talked about before...using that money for our trip to foster in Antigua...but I feel bad Brent will have to go so long with out seeing Elvia...and I will still need to wait until late July or August to go as I can only be off 3 mos from work....so here we go...questioning again what to do!!!
So please pray as we wait and make a final decision ... hopefully it will only a few weeks for Elvia's case to get submitted and then get into PGN. I know I prob lost you all but my head is SPINNING!!!

More paperwork delays...
Our attorney says another one of Elvia's documents expired as they waited for the translated paperwork to go to the Embassy and he has requested the renewal and that. He'll notify us when it is ready because it has been requested. That's all for now, sorry it is not done with yet.

Going public...
I decided to switch my blog from private to public. Right now we need all the comfort, support and encouragement we can get. So please please leave comments! Unfortunately it feels like adoption is not for us. We want nothing more than to bring our sweet girl home & soon and for that reason we will not give up. We miss her so very much and we are not getting updates so we have no idea how she is doing, how big she is growing or how much fun she is having with her foster family. I understand God has a plan for everything but I just wish he would chose to borrow the plan we have for our family!

Things never get easier for us!
Here is the latest, I don't know if I should cry scream or die!
The attorney had to request another copy of the HIV test from the lab. Unfortunately, tomorrow is a Holiday there, so we cannot go until Monday. I will contact you when I have an update again.

Off to be re-fingerprinted!

Well we are off to have our biometric fingerprints renewed today! Also our agency is hopeful the attorney will have our case accepted by the Embassy today. Currently PGN is not releasing cases. I hope the Embassy continues to work so we can sail through family court and PA. We are still discussing the option of me (Deanna) going and fostering Elvia in Antigua once she enters PGN. This will only work if she enters PGN this summer so Brent's lawncare business will fund my stay there. Well hopefully I will have GOOD news tonight!
Oh ya- we got an awesome new table for our dining room so Elvia can dine in style! I figured since she likely won't be enjoying her high chair that long as she will l be 2 when she comes home, we need to get her the next best thing! And Mama loves it!!!
