Having to say goodbye again...but realizing the next time we see each other will be FOREVER!!!

Today I had to say goodbye to my sweet Auri, my roommate Lindsey and all our friends Alice, Angie (okay Angie I didn't get to say goodbye---so hugs...goodbye!), Emily, Lee Anne, Mary Margaret, Melissa and of course the kiddos Eliana, Madi, Erick, Samuel, Milo and Izzy!



I finally broke down when I said goodbye to Lindsey...I thought I could stay strong...for Auri's sake but I couldn't! But Auri was amazing! On the ride over we talked about where she was going and who she would see. Then once we got closer to her Foster Moms house...she knew exactly where she was! If you could have seen that smile...it was sooo big!



Unfortunately I didn't have a good english speaking driver so I didn't stay long...I had planned to spend an hour or two there. But Auri never looked back...I was so sad! The girl that works in the store connected to the Foster Mom's house, has a baby Sarah and she was at the house...and Auri just hugged and kissed her over and over again!



I wish so much Auri could stay in Antigua and be fostered by Mary Margaret or Lee Anne...and then Mommy and Daddy could skype her daily ...but I felt so much better tonight when I was able to leave and she didn't cry...or waive me goodbye!!! Oh well she is 2!!!



Well the next time will be forever so pray this process goes fast...very fast! And Lindsey stay strong...you will be home soon...you never know there may be a chicken costume in the mail for Eliana since Auri prob won't make it home to wear it!!!

DNA is at the lab!

I just received an email from our agency that our DNA is at the lab and they are about to mail out our results! So pray for a match!!!

I am trying to find out what social worker we have so that we can get a feel for how long we may be stuck in Family Court. Also before we can receive PA we need a midwife document that I am not sure our attorney has obtained yet...so hopefully I will hear back on that as well!

Since we were all sad tonight...

So the house is getting a little lonely...Lindsey and I are getting a bit depressed as there is nothing to distract us from the thoughts that we are not home with our little girls yet. (This afternoon we said goodbye to Staci, Mark and Andrew. )

I became a big eater of ice cream from about December to June as I was so depressed about our adoption going no where. Okay Brent and I had ice cream just about every night! Since I got here I may have had 3 scoops and that is only because we were celebrating birthdays. Well tonight I told Lindsey I must really be getting depressed because I needed to eat ice cream tonight!!!

I decided it wasn't fair to eat it in front of Auri and I just couldn't wait until she went to bed so I made her a very small bowl (well I need to make sure I have enough to get me through Sunday when I take Auri to her foster mom's and head to the hotel where I will stay until I head to the airport at 4:30 the next morning). So I must have finished my bowl first and left Auri at the table....when I came back she was rubbing the melted ice cream that also had hershey's syrup in it all over her arms and face! This little girl loves to put lotion on daily and well we couldn't find where she put the lotion today so we skipped it...I guess Auri really needed it! I should have taken a picture but you probably wouldn't have seen it since it was chocolate and matched her complexion!!!

Super Model or Tom Boy???

Yes, my daughter loves to play in the dirt!!! We don't go out in the yard too much because of the bugs but when this girl gets out there...watch out! She is covered from head to toe in dirt...yes she thinks it is fun to put dirt in her hair!!!

Later in the evening we went out to dinner with our roomies Staci and Andrew as they are headed home Friday! We are very excited for them but sad they are leaving us!

On another note...Auri loves Buffalo Wings!!! Last night I ordered wings and I think she ate 8 of the 12! Looks like Mommy and Auri will be eating at Buffalo Bill's and JD's Roadhouse a lot!!!

Auri looks like a Tennis Star in this adorable outfit from her Grandma Stasa. (for those of you wondering who that is that's my good friend and co-workers awesome mom!!! We just love her!!!) Anyway I wish I had a better picture of her but the girl hates the camera now...guess I over did it! So now we have moved on to the video camera and Auri loves when I turn the viewing screen around so she can see herself in it. If only I knew how to upload the videos...hint hint I need some help!!!

Oh how Auri loved this Burger King crown! I know she does not look like she is loving it but she could smell her french fries and was getting frustrated we had such a long walk home before she could eat them!

So we have been on pins and needles all day long...but it is finally over...well first DNA and our PGN Birth Mother interview!!! Auri's foster mom was trying to update me but my spanish vocabulary pretty much stops at UNO!!!

Auri obviously missed her mama so much! She was the most loving child when she got home. We were at our neighbors house celebrating Samuel's first birthday (he is a TOWA baby) when their doorbell rang and I was like...that might be for me...and it was!!! Auri looked so sad when I saw her sitting in the taxi waiting for me and once I picked her up she just smiled and kissed me!

Now we wait for PA (pre-approval) and FC approval and then back into PGN for final approval...oh we are hoping for a miracle...someone has a chicken costume waiting for her to wear to the Halloween parade!

I was completely ready to go home at the first of September...but now that our case is moving and Auri really feels like a Heinrich---I don't want to leave!

Family Court interview complete!

Just got the email that Family Court interview was completed today and went well! Tomorrow is DNA and PGN BMI!

My little girl just cried...

(This was Auri the morning I was taking her to our attorney...she was so sad!)

when I left her at our attorney's office with his secretary! I thought I was meeting our attorney and our foster mom at the office but the attorney called his office and had the secretary put me on the phone and told me to leave Auri with his secretary and they will take her to them. It was so hard to leave her that way...but hopefully tomorrow she will be much closer to coming home!

Family Court Tomorrow

We just learned we have family court tomorrow and the birth mom is scheduled to be in Friday for DNA and our PGN interview! We are so excited but so scared it will fall through.

PLEASE PLEASE PRAY this all falls into place the next two days!

I am letting Auri stay with her Foster Mom tomorrow night too...not sure what I will do without her kicking me all night!!!

Deadline approaching

Hey Everyone,

The deadline to have the PGN interview is getting closer. We still have not received a response to whether or not our attorney found the birth mom. Obviously he himself did not go as he told Brent and I in the meeting. Also it does not appear this midwife document was obtained. We are so tired of all the lies. Our attorney has 4 - yes I said FOUR exclusive cases...and for some reason it takes him 2 months to get anything done. We are beyond frustrated. We just want Auri to be home with us....and wouldn't he like the rest of his money?!?!

Well I am headed back home at the beginning of Sept. I just can't afford to stay here with no end is sight. It will be hard leaving Auri but we really have no other choice. (you would be amazed at how well she has picked up English!)

PGN INTERVIEW DEADLINE - AUG 31

Well PGN and the CNA came up with a deadline for all the birth mom interviews for all cases regardless of where you are...and well our birth mom is MISSING! We still never heard if our attorney went out to find her. I am assuming he did not as our agency director is still here in Guatemala and they were prepping all files to be submitted to PGN by Monday.

So where does this leave us..WE HAVE NO IDEA! Looks like we will need to come up with 2k to hire an investigator and find her ourself. This is not the news I wanted.

Well I need to try and get some sleep. As soon as I hear anything...you all will!

Oh the fun we had last Wednesday...

These are pictures from last Wednesday when we went into the city to meet our agency. First we met up with our neighbors at the mall to eat lunch at Chili's! Oh we were so excited...except my Fajita Trio had ribs with it instead of steak!!! And Brooke...the peppers were not as good! Brent and the groupee better be taking me out there as soon as I get home in September! We also rode a Carousel but our camera was dead so no pics of that. Here are pics of Auri and Erick...the train was sitting in the mall and the little table was in the kids area at the restaurant.

As for Me...I am sick with a very bad cold!!! Most of the house has something! I washed all the toys the kids chew on so hopefully we can get rid of these bugs!

Go Figure...NO UPDATE

Well I know many of you are waiting for an update in regards to whether or not our attorney was able to locate Auri BM...well no phone call and no email...I sure hope we get good news tomorrow because I am DONE being NICE!!!

We miss Daddy already!

Daddy left us at 9 am this morning and we already miss him! Auri was up in our room calling out Papa's name. However since seeing her daddy, she now will talk to him on the cell phone when we call(we called him today to make sure the shuttle delivered him to the airport)...before she would just listen and smile!

We also called my parents tonight and she talked to my mom. When my dad got on she was cranky b/c she just fell in the back yard so she just listened! My dad will be very happy to know she loves Handi-Snacks...however I have found it works best to just feed her the crackers and then when she is done fed her the cheese off the stick! (or vice versa). So I am sure they will be stocking up on those for our Sundays at church!

A birthday party for Auri!!!

Today we celebrated Auri's 2nd birthday! Not sure she understood what was going on but she still had fun! When she was seated at the table to blow out her candle and everyone was singing she started to cry! Guess she doesn't like to be the center of attention!

We got a big Chicken Little pinata that we have no pictures of!!! It was either the same size as Auri or a little bit bigger. But the best part of the party was the bounce house/ball pit!!! The kids loved it...well the older ones! And no we didn't bring ours from home. I talked Brent into letting us rent it from the party store up the street. We even had an attendent there the entire 2 hours to make sure we were using it okay! After bouncing and eating cupcakes most of the kids took a dip in the baby pool...of course they were blue when they got out. Its usually pretty warm earlier in the day and then it cools down.

Brent and I made cupcakes with the canned icing...so everyone got a little taste of home!

Just a side note that fascinated Brent....you can make a one month lease payment on a motorcycle down here for the same amount that we paid for the pinata...300Q...crazy! Okay and talk about crazy as we headed to McDonalds this evening there was so crazy parade with people dressed as the opposite sex and dancing! We tried to get some pics but we caught the end of it which I don't think were involved in the crazy dancing! I will try and post the pictures later!
