Tuesday's fun!

Yes- all I do is eat!!! Today it was McDonald's! And they have orange pop not HI-C like in the US. And yes Grandma, mommy showed me how to brush my teeth, now I cry when she makes me give it back!!!
I like to do anything my mommy does...so I put BeBe's sippy cup in the fridge too!
Yes - get a good look now...daddy will never let me go out like this in the US...I already found a few boyfriend's here...Erick and Matao (sp?)!
And this is me having fun in my new raft...although I showed daddy how I can put my face in the water and do all kinds of other daring things!

SPLISH SPLASH I was taking a bath!

For a girl who loves water it takes a lot to get her to take a bath!

First we had to pretend like we were at the pool dangling our feet and splashing in the water!

Not sure how all those cute pig tails get in her hair...she barely lets me brush it! She prefers to do her own hair!

Who would have ever thought that one cranky little girl would have loved this video (that was to help me to speak spanish- thanks Mary) so much that she sat and watched the entire thing??? Especially when she couldn't sit still for more than a minute all evening!!!

Movin' Monday

Today we had Hector, Victor's brother in law (the guy that translated for us on the last trip) take us from the Vista to the Tikal. Well Victor didn't not hear me and thought it was just me...so Hector had to take us and some of our luggage first to the Tikal and then went back for the rest of our luggage. Here are a few pictures from this morning:


Eating - Eating - Pooping and Pooping... this is what I do!!! Ever since I read a comment on the Wheeler's blog about packing diaper cream b/c Guate babies poop a lot...we have been cursed!!!

And we finally got hair brushes...23 dollars for two!!! We could only use our debit card if we spent 180 Q. so we had to buy two! We bought them from a Kids Salon....the prices at the big people salon were about 190 Q. for one!!!

We just finished eating breakfast...someone was a little fussy about letting us put a bow in her hair...so we did our best! Then after breakfast as we left the restaurant...there was an interesting clown which we did not get pictures of that gave Elvia/Auri twp headbands!!!

Okay I convinced Mommy to take me in but she said you wouldn't be getting any pictures of us in the pool together. Guess you will have to wait another day to see my new bikini and raft. Oh ya Daddy had to clean the pool too...we didn't like all the pineneedles or whatever they were from the trees!

Day Two

Okay for some odd reason we have had people trying to keep our computer connected to the internet all day and they couldn't..I thought I would give it one last try and we are in...

Well we made it! Our attorney and foster mom went to the wrong hotel!!! They went to the Tikal since that is where they are picking Elvia up from! But she made it here at 4:15...and she is even cuter than ever!!! Brent and I are exhausted ---and we finally got the internet working so I know you are just looking for pics...here they are:

Well we are packed...now lets just hope our suitcases are not over 50lbs!!! Brent is sleeping now...I am just sitting her watching TV. We have the cell phone alarms set and my mom and co-worker Ruth are calling at 4 am to make sure we are up and on our way out the door!

Right now I am so frustrated! Very frustrated that we have not even been submitted to the Embassy...have no idea when our daughter will be home and how we will pay for these trips, our failed adoption and this adoption! Maybe this is God's way of telling me I don't need to live in a 350k house and drive a BMW or Lexus...and I should just go with Brent's low key lifestyle! Sorry for venting...I just had to get that off my chest!

The excitement is driving me crazy!!!

I can't wait to get my arms around my precious little girl!!! I think she may scream in fear of this crazy momma eating her alive with kisses! It was very different on our first trip...I can't explain it but I definitely think this trip is going to be awesome! I think our little diva is going to show her true colors...which we can't wait for! By our last night in December...she broke out the monster noises, latched to our legs when around others...it melted my heart!!!

We are almost finished packing! Tammi adopting Mia from our agency sent me the cutest picture album that will be filled with pics from this trip and the cutest little purple purse with a bunny and her first My Little Pony for Auri/Elvia! I will post pics back her when we get them!

oh ya and I am always thinking!!! The flights coming home are booked and I am sure they are over booked since so many families are getting to bring their precious babies home! ( I can't wait to see them all on the plane.) So my plan is to get bumped from my flight from Houston to a later flight to Pittsburgh if they offer me a free ticket at a later date or a big chunk of change to pay for it myself...sound like a plan or what?!?!?! Always thinking of ways to pay for another trip!!!

Well back to packing!!!

We did it! Our kiddos with fur will have to miss us a little more!

We extended our stay!!! We will be staying 3 days at the Vista Real and then 3 days at the Grand Tikal! Unfortunately we will be flying out very early Thursday morning 6:20 am...and since the foster moms are coming for a meet and greet with our agency at 4 pm on Wed, Elvia may need to leave with her foster mom around 5 :-( We are going to see if the foster family wants to hang out so Elvia doesn't have to leave until 8...praying this all works out. I think I will end up in my room balling...knowing Elvia is so close but not with us for the night :-( ...not sure how I am going to make it through this goodbye.

Oh we can't wait to get on that plane...wait did that just come out of my mouth? The one who HATES to fly??? Well we are just about ready...all we need to do is pack our clothes! I can't wait. Still trying to get Brent to let me stay and foster...its not working!!!

Tonight we went to IKEA...I know everyone is saying, Deanna and IKEA---what??? Yes I am very country and primitive but we just didn't have the money for the Land of Nod table and Pottery Barn Kids chairs...and since hubby has a million projects...we opted for the table and little stools from IKEA...it will still be very cute. Of course we picked up an art easel which I will paint to give it a more rustic look and a carpet to put under the table and chairs and easel...yes I scratched the new hardwood floors trying to prove to Brent that he doesn't need two people to move the crib...oops...I will be going to Lowe's this week to get something to fix it ( I believe its all cosmetic!)

Awwwh, I can't see the picture very well but looks like our sweet girls hair is getting long! They have it in a bow on top of her head....just how we love it!!! Oh we can't wait to see her!
